Lizzo teased new music is on the way following the shock allegations (Picture: AFP)

Lizzo confirmed she’s back in the studio following the accusations brought against her by her backing dancers.

The Juice hitmaker – real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson -was accused of sexual harassment and weight-shaming several dancers who have come forward with shocking allegations.

Lizzo, 35, has since denied the claims and rubbished them as ‘sensationalised stories’ and ‘unbelievable.’

The Specials singer was recently spotted out and about, and in footage obtained by the MailOnline, she revealed was ‘doing good’

‘I’m in the studio right now,’ she said as she appeared to tease that new music is on the way.

The trio claimed they were subject to sexual, religious and racial harassment, disability discrimination, assault and false imprisonment, among other allegations.

In early August, fans of the body-positive star were left stunned when three former members of her dance troupe the Big Grrrls – Crystal Williams, Noelle Rodriguez, and Arianna Davis accused Lizzo of discrimination and creating a ‘hostile work environment’.

Part of the lawsuit, obtained by PA, detailed a trip to Amsterdam’s red light district in February 2023. Performers were allegedly pressured to come along on nights out for fear of losing their jobs.

One visit to a club named Bananenbar allegedly resulted in performers being encouraged to touch nude performers by Lizzo.

Earlier this month the musician broke her silence on the allegations with an Instagram saying the last few days had been ‘gut-wrenchingly difficult.’

‘These last few days have been gut-wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing,’ her post on Instagram began.

‘My work ethic, morals, and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized. Usually, I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous not to be addressed.

She claimed the comments from her former dancers were ‘sensationalized stories’ and that they were told their ‘behaviour on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.’

The post continued: ‘The sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.

‘There is nothing I take more seriously than the respect we deserve as women in the world. I know what it feels like to be body shamed on a daily basis and would absolutely never criticize or terminate an employee because of their weight.

‘I’m hurt but I will not let the good work I’ve done in the world be overshadowed by this. I want to thank everyone who has reached out in support to lift me up during this difficult time.’

Reps for Lizzo have been contacted for comment.
